I am beginning work on my AS foundation production; the brief I am working on is to create the opening two minutes of a fictional film. I am working alongside two other members of my AS media class, and together we have formed one group.
Before we start filming our opening sequence we have to complete an initial exercise in continuity editing; we have to film a sequence involving a character to walk into a room and exchange lines of dialogue; take part in a brief conversation.
This has to demonstrate continuity editing, especially match action cuts and shot-reverse shot techniques.
We shot the footage 2 days ago, and finally got to grips with mini DV cameras and tripods. Today we are having a go at digital video editing and using adobe premier pro.
I found the whole process to be interesting and gained alot of knowledge about the DV cameras etc...to begin with, myself and my group found it hard to grasp the essentials however after some practise the task became easier, i am now looking forward to get on with the filming and making the actual sequence.
