Filming session- #1

Today, Michaela and Chloe’s ‘performance’ was filmed.  Chloe and Michaela got the staging prepared and ready to film before hand as they had free time on their hands whereas me and Alex had lessons to go to...When we got to the venue in which we were going to film, Chloe and Michaela were already ready and raring to go. They were just waiting for us to arrive, it took them around 30 minutes to get the stage prepared along with the piano, but when it was done Chloe and Michaela changed into their costumes (long, evening dresses) and filming began.
Myself and Alex filmed the sequence...mainly Alex as to begin with as I didn’t know how to use the camera! We used a range of camera shots and angles to make the film exciting and effective:
-Mid Shot - From the other end of the piano

-Close Up  - Of Michaela’s fingers playing the piano
-Low angle Shot/Tilt - Of Micheala playing the piano
-Bird’s Eye View/Tracking shot/Close up - Along the piano Keys of Michaela playing the piano
-Close up Shot - Of Michaela  playing the piano, front view, so you can see her face and her shoulders.
With lots of variety shots it makes the film more exciting and interesting for an audience to watch. If we had the same shots throughout the film it would be extremely boring.
We had difficulty trying to get the sound to work, but a friend came and prepared sound and it was OK from there.
Here are a few pictures we took whilst the filming was taking place!
